Caelan Spidle graduated from the University of North Texas where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education in 2022. While attending North Texas, he completed his student teaching in Frisco ISD, as well as served as a marching band instructor for the Green Brigade, as well as other public schools in the Dallas Fort-Worth metroplex. Most recently he received his Master’s Degree in Music & Human Learning from the University of Texas at Austin in 2024. Caelan currently serves as the Assistant Band Director at George Ranch High School in Richmond, Texas. In addition to teaching full-time, he is an active freelance music arranger & composer for the marching arts in the United States.
When returning to his hometown in Austin for graduate school, he taught for two years as a marching band instructor at Vandegrift High School in Leander ISD. During these two seasons, they won both the 2022 & 2023 UIL 6A State Marching Band Championship, as well as the 2023 BOA San Antonio Super Regional Championship. The band is a consistent finalist at all BOA events, as well as other local competitions.
His performance experience includes marching with the Phantom Regiment (2019) and Carolina Crown (2020-2021). While at North Texas he performed with the Concert & University Band as a clarinet player.
In his free time, Caelan enjoys spending time with his family, as well as being a fan of college football. Outside of family and music, he also is active in riding motocross in east Texas.
